BANG

Brighton Animators Networking Group

Hi all!

Just want to say a BIG THANK YOU to Jayne Kirkham, Sarah, Abbie and any other people that made last night event possible
I was wandering if we can add some notes about this event, and a list of animations, so people that missed out can have some information too.

I'm really glad it went well and sorry I had to dash off before it all started. Thanks again to Jane for doing the talk and Sarah, Abbie and all those involved in setting up another successful BANG event. See you all at the next one..

Jayne is just about to head off on holiday, so she apologised for not being able to reply & write up some notes for anyone who couldn't make it. But said she'd try her best when she's back in August.

But in the meantime - here's a list of the films we saw -
Beauty and The Beast 1991 US Disney .screenplay by Linda Woolverton, Story
supervisor Roger Allers (heading up 10 writers!)

Spongebob Squarepants : I'm With Stupid 2001 US. Nickelodeon. Created by
Stephen Hillenburg (again a team of writers developed the story and
screenplay)

Yoko Jakamoto Toto: The Shell 2003 UK CITV Created by Tony Collingwood.
Episode written by James Mason

Note from Jayne -
I chose the Disney because Disney are good at following 'rules' so it's easy
to see how character carries the main story theme and leads the audience
through the narrative. But we could have looked at Princess Mononoke or
Belleville Rendevous where the character types have more layers and the
stories are less simplistic but they're not so easy to teach from in limited
time.
