Since September I have been attending a life drawing class once a week at Northbrook College. One of the best things about the course is having the chance to use a variety of materials to draw the model with. Below is an example.

Just wanted to say thank you to Tim for his character animation and lip-syncing talk and demo last night. I learned some very useful things, especially about organising assets when using Illustrator/Flash/AfterEffects procedures on a project that might involve several animators. I keep whistling (or humming) the
World of Burt theme tune today. I hope that's a good omen for Tim's series.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/doctorwho/dreamlandanimation/ There have been a number of updates to the blog recently including "meet the voices" videos. We got a dude from The Wire and everything!

It's the 24th today and that means there's exactly
one month to go before the
Future Machine BANG animations will be projected onto the Unitarian Church. We're also starting to receive submissions for the night (which look great!) and we're looking forward to receiving many more!
For those of you who are yet to start putting your animations together, but would like to be involved, there's plenty of info to get you started. T…

Just pressed the update button on my BANG page and it asked me what brings me here.
I just wanted to see what the Update button did, obviously!
Anyway, now that I'm here, may as well post something. Especially as Patrick has been enquiring about my activities.
I've been doing a bit of photography. The pic…

With the latest collaborative BANG event on the cusp of exploding into a frenzy yet to be seen on this site, I thought I’d share some of my thoughts on the topic - The Future.
Apart from Hoverboards and a bully called Biff Tannen the idea of what the future holds is something I’ve never really seriously considered. This latest BANG brief has made me realise that apart from planning on what I’m going to have for dinner that evening or on a Sunday dreading the week of work which waits, I don’t re…

Well it has been a long time since my last post for which I apologise. Only small things not worth talking about have happened since the last blog so I’m going to pick up from the last BANG event with Jayne Kirkham. I thought it was excellent; my thanks go out to Jayne for her presentation/talk and also to Sarah and Abbie for organising the event.
Undoubtedly it was the most informative event we have had, I was learning so much I had to remind myself I wasn’t wearing a silly uniform and being f…

Hi all!
Just want to say a BIG THANK YOU to Jayne Kirkham, Sarah, Abbie and any other people that made last night event possible
I was wandering if we can add some notes about this event, and a list of animations, so people that missed out can have some information too.

Oh well. It looks like my transparent attempt to ignite a storm of controversy over the Live Music animation has been a failure. I was hoping the tone of my recent post might spark some discussion or at least ridicule. No such luck. It seems no-one cares that much. Which isn't surprising. If this is such a great way of working, why do the results look so boring? Yet reluctant as I am to contribute even more to Sony’s irrelevant pr stunt, permit me one additional comment.
Yair Landau, Mass Anima…

Just looked at the trailer for the “mass animated” short, Live Music. I know this is an innovative piece of film making because Intel says it is, but personally I consider it an insult. When you consider the workmanship that’s gone into some of the work that I’ve put up here, for example, it’s hard to see projects like Live Music as anything other than a slap in the face to real animators. Mark my words: Facebook and Intel represent a real and present danger to animators everywhere!
While we’re…

Last week many of us attended the major BANG event of the month. I’m talking, of course, about the speed networking event. I had to leave around nine o’clock so didn’t get to natter with everybody but those of you who I did meet made me realise what a great community of people BANG is. As promised I was literally dazzled by the luminescence of the bean bags, they were pretty cosy as well, an added bonus. After my retina’s had acclimatised I turned to see the sheer intensity of glow coming from t…

Hi all,
I just thought I'd post a quick note to say there are now 200 members of this site!
It's great news and it's also good to see that there's a lot of activity on the site with new pictures, videos and comments added every day.
Thanks to everyone who's involved (and particularly to Sarah for running the group) and I hope you to continue to post your brilliant animations and illustrations here. It's also been really encouraging to have lots of people along to the BANG events and it's good…

Welcome to another rare and exclusive glimpse into my embarassing inexperience and general lack of expertise which might, I'm hoping, compensate for the lack of humour in my work and indeed, the lack of any actual work.
This is just an update on the wolf/cheetah animation mentioned in…
