It's that time of year again! Yes, it's our annual Christmas Big Screen Bonanza with the Flash Brighton group!
Come along on Tuesday 15th December from 7pm to the King & Queen pub on the Old Steine to watch a great selection of animated short films…
Hi,
Thanks for your encouragement!
I hope your project goes well and opens a few doors, and you also get time to do your own projects too. Never enough time, and I always seem to think I can do a lot more than I really can!
Would be nice to meet up. I'm intending to start coming to the BANG meetings anyway, doing everything possible to make a real go of this!
I love traditional animation myself. Always felt a lot happier with a pen in my hand than a tablet. I love stop motion too, but have never really done very much. I'm trying to get a wider knowledge of programs and build up my portfolio with a range of different skills. I'm also interested in becoming a concept artist, although have a real problem kicking my imagination into gear!
To be honest, I'm searching for a job where I can be happy, and if that means freelancing, I'm happy to do lots of different things. But, traditional, hand-drawn animation is my thing really.
Hope you don't mind reading essays!
How about you? Are you animating full time, or just starting out?
Danni
Cool, That would be great.
I'm quite nervous to be honest about trying to get into the industry, and trying to battle a lack of motivation or inspiration. Feeling a bit like a fish out of water I suppose!
Hopefully I'll have some work up for people to see soon.
Are you working on anything at the moment?
Danni
Hi,
I'm sorry I didn't reply to the message you left about 6months ago! Haven't been back on here since.
I had a little peek at your showreel, it's very nice! I don't have any work up at the mo, but I'm working on it.
Have you moved to Brighton yet? How's it going on here?
Danni

Awesome music video man, is it after effects? Suits the mood of the song, gotta love a bit of accordion. Your style reminds me of Belleville Rendez-Vous. I've got a couple of vids up now just so you know
The rotoscoping took me about 2 weeks, I'd say... I'd like to try it again soon but maybe with more experimental touches.
I liked your showreel, especially the cartoons - they remind me of the French cartoonist Sempe, do you know his work?
Did you study Multimedia at UoB, by the way? I think I recognise your music video from when James Brocklehurst showed us examples of what kinds of things people have done on the course.
Hi Kit,
Nice showreel i love the guy in the coat too. you have a great style. Good luck with your move to Brighton it's a great place to live! It would be fun to do a collaboration on a 2D project :-) My favourite cake to make at the moment is Victoria sponge cake :D mmmmm.
take care x
what am i working on? - do you have several days...
i'm trying to get the next issue of celph out this summer (i can give you copies of the other issues when you get to brighton, or post them out, but i have had to put a few things on hold due the fact i'm training to be a pilates instructor over the summer. i work in the print trade and animation and illustration just comes and goes, commercially, not enough to live on. too many folk can do it down here, as the size of bang shows. aside from that i publish short stories by writers i know, and i joined bang to get to work on a colaborative thing as don't have the time to fully do something myself - although i always find time to draw comics mmmmmm....
bit of a rambly but honest answer...
hi kit - i wa looking for character sheet type stuff of mine - but i don't really have anything - i draw celph in a more illustrative way and never the same twice - she's probly too detail to a good walk sequence of - although i'd love to see that. i use flash mainlt to animate - althoughthe movement aren't as subtle. - i have always wantedto a simple style to animate her story - i'd love to talk with you about this and more - my email is apbatch25@yahoo.com cheers andy p.
