Hi Everyone my name is Ben Brockett and I am an imposter. I am not an animator but a composer who would like to work with animators. I've really enjoyed being part of this group and have met some interesting and friendly people. I will be fulfilling…
Hi I am a composer looking to collaborate on interesting projects. I live near London but I am in Brighton fairly regularly visiting friends, who told me about this site. Please check out my work @ www.benbrockett.com and get in touch if you think I may be able to help.
Hi Ben, thank you, glad you like it. Yes it took months to make... great fun though. Obviously, I animated to the music with The Dog, it's trickier for you to work the other way around I know... most important bit is the toe tapping. Looking forward to hearing what you come up with... no rush though.
This gets trickier and trickier... I've got a .mov version that's 3GB, a bit of a monster... not sure how to make it smaller unless I keep re-saving and compressing (any other ideas?)... will give that a go... watch this space.
It’s Raymund the animator you spoke with on the bang Brighton website.
I hope all is going well with life and work it was great hear back from you and to know that your doing great, it would have been awesome to meet up at the bang networking event in June but I will be travelling to china for a month so I will be un able to make it but it would be great if we can arrange a date to meet up sometime in august.
I am currently beginning the pre production for the film I am making called postcards from anywhere and was wondering if it was possible for you to produce a piece of sample music for me for the introduction, the music has to be about 1.50 minutes and I would like the music to be quite soft and reflective as the film is about relationships I will attach an example of the kind of music I would like.
I am sorry if this has come at a busy time or if I am asking for too much but it would be so help full if you could produce a few samples for me if that is ok with you as the film is beginning to role now.
Hi Ben, apologies I didn't get back to you last night. I've got my film (14 mins!) as an .avi file if that's any good... It's pretty big - 132.2MB. Is that ok? If so, send me your address and I'l load it up. It's not the best version and gets annoyingly pixelated at times but I think you'll get the idea.
Hi Ben, would you be interested in helping me? I've got a stop frame animation that I made a little while ago and in it I use a bit of Jimi Hendrix's Red House. Whilst I had copyright clearance to use the music as a student film, it didn't extend to web or any other kind of usage (that would have cost me LOADS). So, here's the challenge should you chose to accept... would you be interested in creating a 1 min piece, in the style of Hendrix or similar (my character is a poetry writing, hippy dog, with his head in the clouds, (not) working for a booze baron in an illegal moonshine racket (I can show you the film/fill you in on the story later... it gets a bit involved!)). Then I could (finally) put my film on t'internet? I'm completely skint but can make you endless cups of tea (ask Patrick!) and feed you homemade cake. I would of course pay your train fare if you're not in this neck of the woods yet (though I'm in no particular rush) and obviously give you a credit. What say you? Ab
