Oooh it’s all gone quite- it must be August!
Wanted to share some great news that one of BANG’s collaboration projects has been taken up by Brighton Council and has been commissioned for this year’s White Night festival. Have a peek at last year’s event:

The theme of the 2009 Festival is “fortune” and we want to get all Nostradamus and look to the future for inspiration. How do you imagine what is to come? Can you animate it? During the night of Saturday 24th October, the animations created for the project will be projected directly onto the façade of a Brighton landmark. Fancy beaming your visions on the walls of the city?
Whether it’s a 30 second alien attack or a utopian 10 second loop, get prophesising and show us how you see the coming century. It is a chance for animators and filmmakers to transform public spaces with their work.
The official call out will be made as soon as we have finalised the venue, with details about file formats and other entry information. But thought I’d tell you over sleepy August, in case you were dying for a project to get your teeth into. The future’s open and this project, likewise, is open to all approaches and all styles of animation: computer animation, experimental film making, motion graphics, collage, stop-motion animation, generative art... Whatever you can imagine!
Check out the animation of the Future Machine mascot Abbie’s posted. This is Toc, he’s a little pod, that’s travelled a long way - and he’s going to be travelling even further as Cheska’s taken him with her on her global travels. Posts from Toc to follow!
Enjoy the Summer. Happy animating.
